Topic Statement Example
When writing an essay, the first step is to write a topic statement. Although the topic will contain all of the information that you want to convey in your essay, it will not do much good if you have no ideas to write about! You should plan to incorporate your idea(s) in your topic statement in order to give it the most substance.
The first thing you need to do when writing a topic statement is to think about what sort of ideas you would like to write about. When you are writing, remember that you should always come back to the theme of your topic! This makes it easier to write your essay.
So what sort of topics can you talk about with an essay topic statement? Let's look at some examples: ancient Greece, classical music, sports, literature, geography, movie stars, religious beliefs, historical events, and the like. There are a great many ways to write an essay topic statement, but just keep in mind that you are always going to focus on your topic in your essay.
